Three children stand at the right of the composition, the one farthest to the right being a blonde boy who is looking at the viewer. Two girls look at a piece of fabric (?). At the left there is a small dog on a chair. The children portrayed are not "Captian Little's" but Winchcombe Henrey Eyre-Hartley and his two sisters, Charlotte and Mary. The picture was painted for Mr. Samuel Hartley of Lansdown Priory near Bath.
