In the top half of the composition, three men hold the deathly gray body of Christ which is wrapped in a filmy white shroud, lowering it into the tomb. At the lower left an armored souldier watches, his right arm extended and supported by a staff. The main colors in the painting are browns, ochres and greys, with ruddy flesh tones on the faces of the men.
